The GHCSS Has Concluded

The Global Health Clinical Seminar Series ran from 2007–2012 and was supported through PEPFAR, the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. It was produced by International Training & Education Center on HIV (I-TECH) with funding from Cooperative Agreement U91HA06801 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), in collaboration with CDC.

Gurusamy Manoharan, M.D.

Dr. Gurusamy Manoharan is the medical director of I-TECH India/Arogyaan, at the Government Hospital of Thoracic Medicine (GHTM) at Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai, India. Dr. Manoharan is also a clinical associate professor of the Department of Global Health at the University of Washington in Seattle and represents I-TECH India on the Core Committee responsible for the NACO-IGNOU Diploma Course in HIV Medicine in India. He has received several honors and awards, including the Mother Teresa Award (presented at the International Conference on AIDS India, 2000), and the Life Time Achievement Award (government of Tamil Nadu, 2007). He serves as a chairperson on the Institutional Review Board of the GHTM and as a member of the State AIDS Clinical Expert Panel (SACEP). He is also a technical resource group member of NACO (National AIDS Control Organization) for antiretroviral treatment.

He obtained his BS, MB, and MD, (General Medicine) degrees at Madras University, Tamil Nadu. Dr. Manoharan is a member of the Association of Physicians of India and the Indian Medical Association.
