The GHCSS Has Concluded

The Global Health Clinical Seminar Series ran from 2007–2012 and was supported through PEPFAR, the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief. It was produced by International Training & Education Center on HIV (I-TECH) with funding from Cooperative Agreement U91HA06801 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), in collaboration with CDC.

Tadesse T. Mekonen, MD

Dr. Tadesse T. Mekonen is a doctor of medicine with extensive experience in clinical teaching and mentoring on HIV and TB. Currently, he is working in I-TECH Namibia as an HIV Clinical Mentor for doctors practicing in several facilities in two regions of Northern Namibia which provide comprehensive HIV care, treatment and prevention services to more than 40,000 people living with HIV. Before joining I-TECH Namibia, he worked as HIV Clinical Mentor and Quality of Care Advisor for I-TECH Ethiopia, Senior TB Program Officer in Program for Appropriate Technology in Health and as a lecturer in Hawassa University, College of Health Sciences in Southern Ethiopia. His area of research interest is adherence to HIV treatment, evolution of HIV resistance mutations in PLHIV on HAART and future HIV treatment options.
